'Visual Merchandising For Fashion' Book launch

Darlings, I’ve been quite the globetrotter in recent months – from New York to Germany to Holland - time has just flown by! However, one event that I must take the time to tell you about is the recent book launch of ‘Visual Merchandising for Fashion', written by well-respected London College of Fashion course directors, Jonathan Baker and Sarah Bailey . This nifty handbag-size book sits comfortably in your Mulberry, Chanel or Marc Jacobs number and is the ultimate go-to guide for all VM principles. Not only does the book help visual merchandisers develop new ways of working within the fashion retail industry it also provides students and industry wannabes with the know-how on ascending the VM ladder!

The evening was hosted by my fabulous friends, proportion london, at their mannequin towers; which was swiftly transformed from its usual loft-type setting into a somewhat trendy pop-up bar. With visuals from the book projected onto the whitewash brick walls and Corsica Studio regular DJ, Robin Gillard, dropping the latest beats, the Dean of the University of the Arts, Andrew Hughes, gave a rousing speech. The team of industry photographer, Melvyn Vincent, snapped the event's 200 plus guests; some of which can be seen below. You can also view all pics from the evening on the proportion london facebook page.

Drinks flowed and popcorn devoured as guests from a wide variety of retail brands, industry suppliers, design companies and academia came together to celebrate the book’s release and congratulate the authors. It was a true delight to catch up with all the industry folk, I barely had time to powder my dainty fibreglass nose!  Although all copies of the book were eagerly purchased before guests spilled out into the Clerkenwell night to continue the party, they are still available to buy from...

I must dash now my darlings, I have an exciting project to attend involving Italian fashion, I shall reveal more nearer the time... Ciao x
