Christmas comes to Claridges

Miss Mannequin adores a trot round the West-End during the Christmas season to see the traditional festive window displays and buy a few trinkets. Of course this trip would not be complete without a sherry around the Christmas tree at Claridges - and what a tree this year.
The hotel has commissioned reknowned florist Kally Ellis of McQueens fame to design this years tree, a natural extravaganza of forest flora and fauna. Inspired by the ethereal glamour of the wintertime woods the lobby at Claridges has been transformed into a forest glade complete with trees made of magnolia branches and lichen moss and studded with crystal and emerald jewelled eggs in white, gold and silver.

The design is called "Forest Murmurs" and is said to evoke the spirit of a traditional outdoor Christmas. Miss Mannequin certainly approved of the freshness and warmth the tree created in the glamorous hotel entrance and was half expecting pixies to serve the cocktails and Xmas nibbles.

Recently featured in BBC2's Inside Claridges, the glamorous lifestyle of this magnificent hotel is showcased in a fascinating and revealing behind the scenes documentary...enjoy your Christmas shopping and send me some snaps of your favorite window displays.
